Global spending on cybersecurity this year could reach $43.1 billion. This is 5.6% more than in 2019.
This is stated in a study by the analytical company Canalys.
In particular, the cost of Internet security and e-mail protection will increase by 10.3%, for research and development – by 10%, the protection of end devices and databases – by 8.5%.
However, this scenario is optimistic. Canalys experts suggest that the economic crisis may become a deterrent to the growth of cybersecurity spending. And if the pessimistic scenario is realized, then the increase in costs can be only 2.5% (up to $41.9 billion).
