Slovenia is considering the possibility of attracting investors with the help of residence permits.
New Golden Visa Program in Europe; According to prian.ru , in March, Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansa convened a Strategic Council to reduce bureaucracy, which should identify unnecessary bureaucratic barriers, develop digital public services and look for ways to attract investment.
The head of this Council, Ivan Simic, submitted a list of recommendations to the government, one of which was a proposal to launch a residence permit and/or citizenship in exchange for investment program. He himself has not yet begun to go into details, since the idea is at an early stage of development, but he believes that issuing a residence permit and passports (if the applicant passes the filters against unreliable ones) can be the most effective way to invest in Slovenia, which has been a member of the EU since 2004 .
It was also proposed to the government to introduce a 10% tax for individuals who receive income of more than 1 million euros per year, which, according to I. Simic, can attract new tax residents to the country – professional athletes and other wealthy people.
