Foreigners whose close relatives are citizens of the Russian Federation will be able to apply for visas to visit Russia in a simplified manner – on the basis of a simple application.
For Foreign Relatives of Citizens of the Russian Federation Will Simplify the Visa Regime; This was announced on Wednesday by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin at a government meeting.
“Today we will simplify the procedure for issuing ordinary private visas and [the procedure] for the stay in Russia of close relatives of our citizens – spouses, parents, children, brothers and sisters, grandparents, grandchildren who have another citizenship,” TASS quoted the head of the Cabinet of Ministers.
We are talking about a draft amendment to the relevant law, which will allow “issuing long-term private visas with a validity period of up to one year” on the basis of a simple written application from a citizen of the Russian Federation.
Also, the rule will be removed from the law, according to which guests had to travel outside our Russia every three months in order to maintain the right to obtain a visa.
As Mishustin noted, this will create “more comfortable conditions for families that are still separated by borders.” According to the prime minister, this will also make life easier for those who want to stay in Russia, as “they will have more time to process a temporary residence permit or a residence permit.”
