Facebook in Switzerland Will Develop Payment Services; In early May, an entry appeared in the Geneva commercial register about a new company, Libra Network, owned by Facebook Global Holdings II.

It is known that she will be engaged in the development of software and infrastructure – primarily a payment system based on blockchain technology.

According to the Swiss newspaper Nasha Gazeta , the launch of the company is part of Mark Zuckerberg’s plan to create his own cryptocurrency, which the media calls Facebook Coin. It is expected that it will be pegged to the dollar or a basket of currencies, that it can be used to pay for services and sent via WhatsApp.

Other media outlets note that Facebook intends to launch not only a payment tool, but a full-fledged payment network and is currently in talks with Visa, Mastercard and First Data.
